Screened Porch
The screened porch was added in 2001 and during a good part of the year, is an integral part of the living area of the house. This porch has painted floors and two ceiling fans. And, to make it look like it has always been there, the porch roof was extended over the entire back of the house enclosing the roofs which covered the kitchen, family and laundry room. This not only "squares" the footprint of the house, giving it a finished look, it allows for a large attic storage via pull-down stairs from the porch. You can also enter the house from the porch thru the original back door into the rear hall.
Rear Yard
There are actually two rear yards; just off the screened porch is a brick patio area and lawn with the original carriage house. A picket fence separates this area from the larger second yard which is approximately 1/2 acre and extends to College Drive (to which there is access through a double gate in the 8-foot fence that borders this part of the property. See the Property Map). This back area also has a woodland garden to one side. And, in the very back, a chain link fenced dog run (unused but very serviceable) remains.
